Are you struggling to find the motivation to work out? Do you find yourself making excuses not to go to the gym? If so, you are not alone. Working out is just like any other activity: you can burn out. At CrossFit 2 Serve, we understand fitness burnout. That’s why we work out to to help our community – it gives us a reason to get stronger every day. However, even with the best motivation, burnout can happen. The good news is, it’s not the end of the fitness lifestyle. There are things you can do to keep your mind fresh. We will share them in the next two blogs!

Don’t Be Hard on Yourself

The worst trap you can fall into when working out is an all-or-nothing attitude. Fitness is a lifestyle, and all lifestyles have their ups and downs. If you believe that taking a break for a week means you’re a failure, you’re far too hard on yourself. Your job is not to keep working out at all costs; your job is to honestly monitor yourself and provide your mind and body what they need. Sometimes, it’s a break.

Take Some Time Off

If you struggle with resting, you’re in good company. We do, too! Try to look at it this way: you’re making future workouts possible by resting now and avoiding injuries. Stay in control by choosing a number of days to take off. You can keep your eye on the ball by using the downtime to review your goals!
